WEBSITES ARE ALWAYS UNDER DEVELOPMENT!
A FEW OF MARTIN'S NOTES FOLLOW:
- Upload of text (by copy paste into edit space) loses much of initial formatting - this is hardly surprising, nor anything to complain about when the free software is so simple to use. Similarly download by copy paste may lose formatting.
However, material may be saved in a 'documents' folder (unseen by the user) and links on the web page allow download of this material to the user without format loss.
- Currently there are 3 parent buttons - 'Hirer's Information', 'Hall Policy Documents' and 'VILLAGE'.
'VILLAGE' currently holds 'daughter' pages for maps, image gallery (linking to another site) and Neighbourhood Watch. Daughter pages help prevent the navigation list from getting too long but their existence is only evident when you click on the parent button - this seems to be another drawback of this software and perhaps a page for a site map is needed. Layout needs helpful criticism.
- html coding proves possible - see the diary page which uses Google Calender.
- Stile sheets seem only useable within headers & footers.
- Table control is limited.
- It seems we can't run a useful photo gallery here (with thumbnails shown & click to large images.) But we link to another free site http://www.flickr.com/photos/31735531@N07/ This free site allows large images but not reasonable grouping.
- Google listing for this site was eventually achieved thanks to linking to & for other websites.
